Introduction:
'Mymensingh' Division is one of the administrative divisions of Bangladesh, a large part of which is covered by the Garo Hills. It is located in the north-central part of Bangladesh.
Geographical Location:
This division is located on the Indian border and between Dhaka, Sylhet and Rangpur divisions.
Mymensingh Division is located at 24'10" North Latitude and 90'25" East Longitude. The Indian state of Meghalaya is located to the north of Mymensingh Division, Dhaka Division to the south, Sylhet Division to the east, Rangpur and Rajshahi Division to the west.
Brief Discussion:
Mymensingh Division is an administrative region of Bangladesh. Before Bangladesh became independent (i.e. during the Pakistan period), Greater Mymensingh (formerly Mymensingh District) and Jamalpur District were part of Dhaka Division. Later, on 14 September 2015, as a result of the government's administrative reorganization program, Mymensingh, the eighth division of Bangladesh, was formed with Greater Mymensingh and three other districts, namely Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrokona. The districts of this division border India, and each district has several tourist areas.
